Late Post

Dear Family and Friends,

I have had "broken" phone conversations with Jim so again, this is what I heard today and I pray it is accurate.

They had a good day yesterday and a wonderful evening last night.  They had dinner together and went to a market in Bogatonga and enjoyed shopping and visiting.

44 local volunteers made this trip possible.  They had a time of thanksgiving for them last night and gave them small gifts for their crucial help.

There was one "provision" story after another.  Bibles were provided in the local language, surgery to a woman who has cancer, and the list goes on.  They have been trying to procure hand powered tricycles for 3 people over the last year.  It seems they will finally receive them in April...please add this to your prayers.  There are two albino sisters that were provided for.  There will be many more stories to unfold in the days to come.

They were just north of Tamale returning for their flight out early in the morning.  They will spend the day in Accra and fly out tomorrow evening.  Please pray for their flights and weather!  They may just slip in here between storms.

One huge praise item...they young gentleman with the neck cancer accepted Christ before they left him.  This was one of our specific prayers and our faith has been increased!  Please pray for God's peace, comfort and healing for him as he has much to deal with.  One of the beautiful parts of our team partnering with an in country team is that Pastor Lewis is always seeking follow-up with local Pastors for all these situations.  It's a beautiful thing to watch the Body of Christ at work!

Jim will leave the team in the morning and take a truck to the hospital in Nalerigu. He will stay for another week and a half working here.  This place claims a definite portion of his heart.  It's a tough place to work compared to American hospitals, but it is actually an oasis compared the rest of the surrounding area for many, many miles.

Thank you for your continued prayers.  Such beautiful gifts and so pleasing to Him!

Pat

John MacKay is back safe and sound and a little jet lagged, I'm sure.  We look forward to hearing about the many wonderful blessings he experienced.  Welcome back John, we love you!  Please continue to pray for Jim as he stays behind to continue ministering to the sick people of Ghana.

Ghana Update

Family and Friends,

I was having a hard time convincing Jim that we are "frozen in" here and that tonight there might be single digit temps!  They are about 85 degrees warmer there.

I want to say that our connections are not always that good and if I give misinformation, I do apologize.  This is the best I can tell from what he is saying.

They left early this morning so they could go by the market in Funbisi.  He said it was a pleasant place and many bought local items.

I received 2 specific prayer requests:

One is for a little girl of about 11 who has chronic liver disease.  Jim is thrilled that she is a believer.  They are praying for a miracle of healing for her.

The second is for an older teen that Lyle saw that probably has some sort of neck cancer.  Please pray for this young man's salvation and healing.

Keith has been busy building desks and today they finished a little over a dozen.  If they keep this pace all week that will be about 60 desks for students to sit in.  He is hoping to train someone to do this there.

Please continue to pray for stamina and health.  Thank Him for the sacrificial hearts of this team and ask the Spirit to encourage each one of our team and the each one of the Ghanian team.

Ghana Trip news

Here's the latest from Ghana, please continue to pray.

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you so much for praying for lights!  Both "theaters" are up and running.  Thank you Lord!  It seems there was a maintenance man already there but he had no tools...can you imagine?

Jim said today they returned to the very first village he ever went to a few years back.  There is no school in the village (where they usually hold clinics) and before they just worked outside.  Jim said they had built shaded huts with reeds just for the clinic!  He was very impressed by this.

Apparently there were many really sick people today.  Jim has asked us to specifically pray for a baby with a cleft palate.  They need to locate the proper resources to help.  There was also a very ill 25 year old lady who had pneumonia that needs much prayer.  There were an unusual number of really sick children.

Someone mentioned it is very hot.  Please pray for stamina and health.  They were in 2 villages and someone mentioned through the various conversations that combined they saw 800.  They really need our prayers as you can see.

Thank you again for the gift of your prayers.

Pat
